FAQ

During the process of getting materials down to Earth (with the space elevator that is mounted on a water-based platform) we have noticed an environmental issue. The platform is putting out oil and gas pollutions into the aqua environment. The way the process currently operates uses massive gas-powered water turbines that move the elevator slowly in order to maneuver it in necessary ways to avoid potential collisions with space objects. Because the elevator is so big we need MASSIVE engines to maneuver the platform, which is why we have not tried other options such as solar because you would need a LOT of solar panels--something we just don’t have.

We believe that the pollution is an issue, so we have devised a plan which will help us supply our power needs cleanly. We will use a material called Graphene, which is a sheet of pure carbon holding on to electrons that acts as a battery. It charges in about 10 seconds, is dirt cheap to make and it is COMPLETY biodegradable. You could put it in your garden, or you could even eat it! This is because it is just carbon. We would have a small electric storage from solar to charge these Graphen “batteries.”
